Dallas-Style

Hey Everyone!

We just got back from our first day of the Warped Tour!

Wow! We set up camp right in front of Main Stage: Left so we saw bands like Gym Class Heroes, As I Lay Dying, and Relient K. There was some definite crowd surfing, moshing, and sweating taking place. Lots of sweating. Our spot was ideal and the Polaroid PoGo printers were a big hit. Tons of people stuck their pictures to the Polaroid PoGo guitar pics and on the skateboard display we had out front.

I met some famous people today and I think I was supposed to be like, “Oh I know you! You’re such and such,” rather than, “are you going to eat that pickle?” Sweet photo man!

But I mean, I was hungry.

We headed into the amassing crowds and met some FUN people. There was one guy who had a skateboard taped to the front and back side of his body and was charging $1 for a kiss. I declined, but he accepted the offer to have his picture taken and a chance to check out the printer. Another memorable picture was one I took with a guy on the tour I met in line for lunch. He let me listen to some of his band’s music on his iPod and we snapped and printed some photos. His band’s name is the Pirate Signal. He stuck the photo to the back of his iPod. Hope he doesn’t tire of looking at that one!

So fun!Halfway through the day, two of the Team Polaroid PoGo team members, Anne Marie and Jessica stopped by. I heard their shriek five tents down, “MEGAN!” They were both decked out in their Team Polaroid PoGo gear and “Oh so cute!”. I was equally excited to see them and after chatting for a few minutes, they took off to enjoy the bands and show off the printer.

All in all, it was a great first day. We leave for Houston tomorrow and go again on Sunday. In the meantime, we will probably find a spot to watch the fireworks and enjoy Texas! Are any of you planning on being in Houston or Atlanta? Or if you were in Dallas, what bands did you see and really enjoy??? Were you Polaroid PoGo’d?

Getting down with the PoGo.

On the Road!

Mike and I had a great start to the tour. We left Minneapolis Tuesday morning and drove through to Oklahoma City. We got some curious looks from people at gas stations, truck stops, and passing vehicles. We pulled into Dallas, TX this afternoon and were greeted by an onslaught of teenage girls. And by onslaught . . . I mean hundreds! Apparently, there is a Junior Olympics volleyball tournament going on here in Dallas. Teams from all over the nation are here and playing hard. We took the opportunity to show a group of them the Polaroid PoGo printer and see what they thought. Mike did a great job of demonstrating on his cell phone how to wirelessly print to the printer. Their reaction was something to the effect of, “OMG, this is so cool. I am so getting one of these!”

We had to go the NorthPark mall to pick up a few things and while there had a chance to talk with a few of the employees at Finish Line about the printer. One of the employees there was crazy about the Warped Tour and mentioned that he had a brother that once did the tour. He promised to stop by tomorrow and play around some more with the Polaroid PoGo printer.

We are all geared up for tomorrow and looking forward to a great first run. If you are in Dallas and come on out to the Warped Tour, be sure to come on over to our tent and “Leave your mark”! Thanks for joining us on the road!
