Burnside in Portland!

We finally made it down to the famous Burnside skatepark and it was just what I thought it would be; crazy. We didn’t get down there until later in the afternoon today, apparently not the best time to go for someone that hasn’t ridden there before.  I spoke briefly with some of the skaters shreddin’ this concrete bank just outside the park and learned that the middle of the afternoon was mostly reserved for the “rippers.”  In other words, if you’re not a local or a pro it’s a good idea to kinda lay back during that time.  Just being there to see one of the most famous skateparks in the United States was cool enough for me.

We met some real cool people and even got a chance to show the Polaroid PoGo printer off a little bit to some of the locals.  The sketchy concrete and and the flowing set-up at Burnside is a place I hope to visit again sometime very soon. In the meantime you can check out video of some of the skaters here.
